ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is an invitation to a dialogue with the viewer. It shares my deep interest as an artist with science and the process that leads to natural pigments creation from raw minerals and plant based materials.
Conceptually, I want to emphasize the connections between our natural environment and ourselves with a focus on geometry, frequency waves, and phyllotaxis or the mathematical arrangement of leaves on a stem. I paint to explore my interpretation of the visual geometric expressions within a potential structure of chaos.
The world we live in surrounds us with visible entanglements which are complex and dynamic. From very tangible urban architecture, roads, streets, or paths to nature’s forests branchings, tree barks, flowers and leaves to less visible ones such as sound and light waves.
A creative process which investigates the aesthetic beauty of randomness.
